Liuyang Fireworks Light Up Ottawa and Win International Championship

On the evening of August 12, local time, Liuyang fireworks lit up the sky over Ottawa, Canada, more than 10,000 kilometers away from their hometown in China.

At the annual Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy, Dongxin Fireworks Group from Liuyang presented a spectacular show titled “China Night: The Four Seasons.” The performance ultimately won the competition’s championship, with judges praising it as “a triumph of both technology and artistry.”

Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy is one of North America’s leading international fireworks and music festivals, bringing together world-class pyrotechnic teams and combining top-level competition with art and cultural exchange. Since its launch in 1996, the festival has welcomed nearly two million spectators.

This year’s event ran from July 29 to August 15, with fireworks performances staged on six evenings. Teams from Canada, France, Brazil and China competed for the top honor.

On August 12, Dongxin Fireworks captivated the audience from the very beginning with “China Night: The Four Seasons.”

Inspired by the changing seasons, the team transformed the night sky into a vivid visual journey through time: the awakening of spring, the thunder and lightning of summer, the celebrations of autumn, and the ice and snow of winter. One dazzling scene after another unfolded above Ottawa.

In the end, the brilliant Liuyang fireworks claimed the championship, once again showcasing the craftsmanship, creativity and artistry of China’s renowned “hometown of fireworks” on the international stage.
